This is it eliminate VTR’s at the Online shoot wihs to use a MacPro with say 4 Video boards and capture Video simultaniously

I Do not wish to have 4 seperate Macs to capture need a solution on 1 or max 2 Macs

When you find this solution, you let me know. There are countless people out there that do multi camera shoots, that would love a solution like this, but to my knowlege, a solution like this does not exist.

If space is your concern, then you can consider 4 XServes and 2 XRAIDs. So it will be 10U total. That’s less than 4 VTRs and lass then any other DDR with similar capabilities I’ve come across. You can add a 17″ MacBook to remotely control all four XServes. And monitor the recorded streams anytime over GigE.

Cost will definitely become an issue. XServes have always costed more than desktop machines.
