Multiple images at once?
The task is to have 50 pictures pour out of an envelope. Is there a preset, script or plug-in that handles this?

Stuff like this is usually done with a particle system that is able to use frames from a source file as the particles. Your choice on which particle system to use depends on the type of movement and the behaviour (physics) of the particles.
There are lots of particle tutorials here on the COW.
