Multiple GPUs in system: choosing the correct card for hardware acceleration in Premiere
I have read the official docs on Premiere and CUDA, but it does not contain some basic hardware information.
I am running Lion 10.7.3 on a hackintosh 4.5GHz 6-core/64GB DDR3.
I want to use the same system for DaVinci and Premiere.
DaVinci is my primary application, so I have an HD6570 as my GUI with a GTX 580 3GB for GPU. All of my my monitors are plugged into either the HD6570 or the BM Extreme.
I know the GTX 580 is not officially supported on Mac, but easy enough to add it to the supported list manually.
If I start using Premiere will I be able to use theGTX 580 for mercury playback hardware rendering despite having no monitors plugged into it ? I installed the trial but I can not seem to find any settings that allow me to do so.
I really do not want to have to unplug and replug in video cards every time I switch applications.
Thanks!
