I was following a tutorial for particular by trapcode and I was using a light as the emitter for the particles and it was working really well. I want to have more than one emitter, it doesnt allow you to select different lights and when I try using a layer I cant get it working,

anyone able to shine a little light on this?

You have to use multiple layers with a different emitter for each instance

Can’t you pre-compose a layer>add another instance of Particular and new lights in the precomp and get the result you want in the main Comp?

    Worth a try.

    Good Luck.

You can use several lights as emmiters as long as you name them Emitter1 Emitter2 and so on.. then you can change color by changing color of the light in the light option
