  • Multiple Effects In Final Cut?

Posted by Joe Quirino on December 21, 2006 at 2:33 pm

I am an avid Editor who just switched from Avid to Final Cut. Is there a way that I can apply an effect (i.e. disslove) to all of my cuts at once? In the avid world I could highlight my cuts and then double click dissolve. I am looking for an easier way to add effects rather than dropping and dragging.
    Thanks for your help.

    To add Multiple Transitions:

Create the transition you want and make it your “Default Transition”.
(You can change the default by control clicking on it in the fx tab.)

Range Select (Select All of) your clips on the timeline (ON THE TIMELINE).

Drag this selection (yes, the TIMELINE selection) (drag ITSELF back) into the Canvas

That works if the transition points are all on the same track.
If you want to add dissolves to multiple tracks hold the Apple key and click on all the transition points that you want and then go to effects in the menu bar at the top and choose the effrect you want to use it can be any effect not just the default.

(You can’t have multiple transistions on the same track this way)
