Multiple Audio Source Sync Problems
Hello all
I have a terrible situation. I have 3 different cameras wedding footage and one audio recording from a laptop that are all in audio sync. However no one camera gets the audio well and the laptops recording was bad, some kind of distortion.
The good news? I have an audio CD that was recorded of the same ceremony.
The even worse news?
The CD audio is out of sync with the all the rest of the audio.
The most terrible news?
The CD audio is not playing back at a constant rate! For some reason the CD audio not only plays back faster, but it varies within the audio file itself!
I have had the same problem before with an audio recording on cassette tape, but this just beats the heck out of me. How a CD can have a different speed is something I find plausible, and it has happened to people other than myself. (https://forums.creativecow.net/thread/3/874319#876365) but how can it change over time is another.
I have tried the method suggested by the last poster in that thread and for the first part of the CD audio it stays in sync, then over time it moves out of sync again.
I have already wasted a couple of months working on this project and I don’t know how I am going to get this problem fixed.
Does anyone know of any software that allows one to load 2 copies of the same audio event and give it a match point and then get the wave forms to match over time? An automatic stretcher?
I find it weird that this problem even occurs; we are talking about a digital recording which should never be different from one source to another in terms of timing.
If there are any suggestions or ideas please I need your help. Thanks for any and all help in advance.
