Multiclips on MacBook Pro
When I run multiclips (ProRes LT) off my LaCie FW800 drive on my MacPro (from January 2008, 8-core 2.8 gHz) they run without problem and no need to render (I’ve had up to 5 angles at once). However, right now I’m on the road with my MacBook Pro (from July 2009, 2.8 gHz processor) and I’ve needed to pull up some projects with multiclips (same LaCie FW800 drive) and I’m having a hell of a time playing clips with just two angles. On my MacPro I can keep an open sync and cut live effortlessly in a sequence, however even to just drop the clip into a sequence on the laptop gives me a red render bar. I can put on unlimited RT however it lags so much that I can’t do any practical work. Is this a common problem or is something in my preferences on my MB Pro causing the issue??? Hope this all makes sense, any help would really save my butt!
