    I’m editing a 4 camera shoot.

All the footage is ProRes 422.

There’s 4 camera angles and I’ve made a multi clip via In Points.

I can’t get any more playback other than about a second before it stutters and grinds to a halt.

is there some setting I’m missing that would be able to allow me to edit smoothly?

    I’m using FCP 7.

    1920×1080.
    29.97 Timebase.

You’ll need to playback off a hard drive RAID, i.e. two or more drives striped together. A single drive does not have the throughout necessary to playback four streams simultaneously.

thats what I was afraid of.

can you recommend a good RAID system/configuration for a hobbyist?
Or will a good TBolt drive suffice?
