Multiclip problem
Hello everybody! I have the problem with the camera angle recognition in Multiclip.
All clips from the same camera (P2 Panasonic 500 ) recognized like different cam angles by Multiclip.
I tried to force FC by entering cam angle thru the properties in browser, changing file names according to file names convention (like in help docs) – all the time I got Multiclip with 126
original cameras. Does it common software bug or something broken in my installation?
Does anybody have the same problems? Any solutions? Thanks. -

How are you having the multi clip sync up the clips is it my, in point time code etc?

It doesn’t matter – I don’t have problems with sync. The trouble is in camera angles recognition.

Because it doesn’t work that way. You need to use a multiclip sequence, and then the timecode from the 2 clips should be related. This is explained in the FCP manual. Look up multiclip sequences and read that section completely.

their Angle properties. If a clip’s Angle property is empty, Final Cut Pro looks at the clip
name, reel name, and finally the media filename to derive angle information. Final Cut Pro

Final cut only allows 1 clip per camera angle for any given multi-clip. In other words you cannot have multiple shots from camera A in the same multi-clip. The only way to get around that is to create a timeline for each camera angle, with all of your clips laid out in sync with timecode and then export separate movies for each angle and then use those clips to form your multi-clip. It’s a bit of a work around but I’ve worked this way and if you have lots of start and go clips, or have to import P2 footage from FireStore drives, it beats working with dozens of separate multi-clips.
