    Hi list,

My solution to any wonkiness with with media in FCP (on more than one occasion I have imported media into FCP and I can only see half of the media I see when I open it in QT) is to export each clip as a ref. mov. and reimport the ref. movs. and edit those.

That is so in my currenet situation. I couldn’t find sync with the actual media but with the ref. movs. I created, I could sync right away (via in-points) – everything works and I am looking at a healthy – fast movin milticlip. The only problem (and it’s a big one) is when I stop the multiclip playback in the timeline and all the markers are supposed to translate to multicip cuts, they all just dissappear.

Would anyone know if it is in fact possible to edit ref. movs. in a multiclip environment of thing or anywhere else my workflow is in error.

    Many thanks and warm regards,

    K.

A further piece of info which might help pinpoint somethng wrong in my multiclip workflow is that when I am adding cut marks in the time line the marks dissappear but the angle show in the timeline is the last angle I tried to cut to. I noticed this as the thumnail changes to which ever angle I last selected.

Many thanks in advance for anyone who can see where I might be going wrong.

Apologies for the frequent partial posts. I think I fisxed the issue. I had accumulated three shortcut buttons int he button list for the various cut to video angle options which I think confused FCP. I optioned clicked on the shortcuts int he button list, clear everything and re-entered the ones I wanted and everything seems to work.

Hope this helps someone from scratching their heads for a few days like I have been doing.

    warmest,

    K.
