Multiclip export problem
We have a 7 hr multiclip program on a timeline and now I need to export it in pieces to run a set of DVD’s. When I export, FCP will not give me a reference file to load into DVD studio. It recompresses the media and turns it into a self contained movie taking up huge amounts of drive space . I do not want to compress this footage again, what am I missing?

Before you export the file, try the”collapse multiclips” command found by right clicking on a clip after you select the multiclips, and don’t forget to turn off the “make self contained option”… you can toggle this off and on the same way all you want too.
