I have two pieces of video with audio stacked on top of each other on the timeline. I go to Tools-Multicamera-Enable Multicamera Editing and then the preview window has a border around it, but only the top video is shown full scale. Doesn’t the preview window automatically update to show up to 4 layers of video? Am I missing something?

You need to select the video tracks that you want to be included in the Multi-camera edit. Vegas doesn’t care how yo stack them. You just need to select them all first.

Any other suggestions? I selected them all including the audio and enabled the multicamera editing and still only get one video track full screen in the preview window. I don’t know if it makes a difference but one track is HD wide screen and the other track is SD 4:3 format.

Did you create the Mulicamera track first? I had assumed you did but now it sounds like you didn’t. Here is the workflow:

    (1) Select the tracks you want to edit in multicamera mode
    (2) Then select Tools | Multicamera | Create Multicamera Track
    (3) Finally select Tools Multicamera | Enable Multicamera Editing

If you don’t create the multicamera track first you will just see a box around the top track like you are seeing.

Thanks for the help. Finally got the sequence down. I will have a chance to play with it today with some editing.
