Hello. Here is my situation. I am working on a tv show that has a 3 camera shoot and dual system audio that has been recorded separate. The timecode has been jammed so that is a start. I have organized the bins by day. Day 1 camera A card 1 and so on. Now should I put everything into one bin as well as the audio, select them all and say make multiclip sequence based on starting timecode? I have sorted out most of the broll and other not needed material so the clips needed to be group are fairly organized.

I have been having a problem with getting my multiclips to maintain the separate audio. Some of the audio files have only one mono track some have 3 in one audio file. How do I get the multiclip to link to the dual audio since there is no video to go with it? This seems to be an issue. I have read other posts though of this working so there has to be a way. What about creating the multiclip, once that is created open the multiclip in the viewer, drag the dual audio files into the viewer to add these to the multiclip. Will the audio be dropped in based on timecode?

Here is an old post that I found. Near the bottom Mark says that he was able to do just what I need for a mtv shoot. Does anyone have a workflow that I can implement?

    Daryl,

First of all, multiclips with dual system audio DOES work. We’re currently doing Project Runway this way, approx 12 cameras and BWF audio from up to 24 individual mics, all sunk to TOD code.

I don’t think I can give you a detailed tutorial on how to do it here in a post. My best suggestion is find someone who knows this workflow and can walk you through it. There’s plenty of little steps that can trip you up along the way.

By the way, there’s a cool program available from singular software called “Pluraleyes” that will sync everything based on waveforms, NOT timecode. Here’s a link: https://www.singularsoftware.com/pluraleyes/

Hi Mark. I do thank you for replying so quickly. I know that you are busy, but could you tell me your briefly your workflow. I think I am almost there but I am missing a few steps. I don’t know anyone else. Everyone seems to have their own workflow and yours seems to be best suited to what I need. Do you use pluraleyes? Are there many steps involved? This is so much harder then I thought. I guess once I figure it out it I should be fine.

    Daryl,

Take a look at the video on the page from Pluraleyes… It should get you going in the right direction fast.

That’s a great find Mark… The intro video on their site is very cool too. They say that multicam editing is fun, and they’re right.

I have been testing out pluraleyes today. Very cool. I drop my video from camera a on v1 camera b on v2
hit sync and in a few seconds I not only have it all lined up but a multiclip made from it. What I then do is cut that multiclip into a sequence grab my external audio line up the timecodes cut that into the sequence and voila. Wow. Pluraleyes rocks. Bruce thanks a mint.
