  • Multicam Edits with effects…

    Hi All,
I’ve been using the multicam edits on FCP for a while, but one thing I have been unable to do, and wondering if it’s possible is to do things like pull color correction on one camera, or even render some effect to a single clip within a multi camera edit. Is this something that can be done “globally” to the entire clip while in a multi-cam clip, or is my only recourse to render a new clip with color correction or whatever it is I want before joining the clip to a multi-camera clip?

Every time I try to add (for example) Color Correction to one clip, it adds, then I go to the other clip, and it is gone when I go back to the original clip.. Anyone done anything like this??

    Thanks!

It seems like there was a way to do it. Did you try dropping the color correction filter onto the clip in the viewer instead of the timeline? Check the manual and see what you can find. Then let us know what you find:)

No.. didn’t think of it.. it’s surprising what you don’t think about at 1:00 AM. As far as the manual.. I didn’t find anything on it, but that was on the online manual.. wondering if the printed one has other info.. if so, that’s stupid.. but I guess it’s worth checking.

I’ll try this, but thanks for the suggestion.

    Brian,
When you add the CC filter to the timeline clip and it’s a multiclip,
hold the filter over the clip for a second and you’ll get a dialog box
asking what to do, either add to that clip or the multiclip. You must choose.
If you don’t, the CC will not stay.

    Brilliant! Brilliant! Thanks Dan!

I love this board.. I just hate the stupid name, it should have been called “Gifted Goose” “Inventive Emu”, or perhaps “Sorta Smart Squirrel”.

Thank you so much.. I really appreciate it.
