Could someone please clarify the differences between the blackmagic multibridge and the AJA LH (preferably from users)? From what I can tell, the multibridge will accept more formats and allow me to monitor output on a HDTV. I want to capture 10bit HD in 4:4:4 from a PDW 350 using a PD 70 deck. I will be capturing to a caldigit HD444 and mainly using after effects to colour correct and composite.
I have read issues with both cards regarding uncompressed HD in premiere, and also have some concerns regarding the hardware in my workstation (although I am awaiting a green light on my specs from the respective companies).

    Hi,

The DeckLink HD Extreme (US$995) is all you need to work with the PDW-F350 XDCAM HD camera or PDW-F70 XDCAM HD deck. If you also want HDMI monitoring, then the Multibridge Pro provides that in additiion to the features of the DeckLink HD Extreme and of course the Multibridge Pro can also act as a standalone convertor when not connected to a PCI Express slot of a computer.

The camera and deck you have specified do not use the 4:4:4 color space and therefore you would simply capture using either Apple’s Uncompressed 4:2:2 QuickTime codecs on Mac OS X or the Blackmagic Uncompressed 4:2:2 AVI codecs on Windows.

4:2:2 HD uses a lower data rate than 4:4:4 HD and so the demands on your computer and disk array will be less. You can check out storage and data rates for both 4:2:2 and 4:4:4 HD in our support notes.
