I have a Mac Pro 2.66Ghz machine with a Multibridge Pro card and BOB installed…running FCP 5.1.4. I downloaded and installed the MULTIBRIDGE 6.4 UNIVERSAL drivers on this machine…yet I can’t get it to work.

I was sent this computer and capture card as an evaluation unit to use in testing a hard drive RAID array (my machine is PCI-x, and the array is PCIe only, so I was supplied with a computer and capture card to do tests).

So I installed the drivers, connected the card via the thick PCI Express lane cable…and connected it to a deck and monitor. Now, the test to see if all is working is to go into the DISPLAYS system pref and see if you can see the external monitor. I cannot. FCP also does not detect the card so…

What am I to do? I see that the BOB has a spot for power, but I don’t have an adapter. Is that required? Or only for the conversion aspects of the card?

    Shane,

The Multibridge Pro requires external power regardless of it being in standalone conversion mode or when connected to your Mac via PCI Express. An external power supply should come with the unit.
