    Hello,

Just got my Multibridge Pro in from B & H.

Installed it and got the PC to see it. Now, I am having some capture issues.

I shot some test footage on the EX1 in HQ (XDCAM mode) at 720 60p. I am going SDI out from the EX1 into the Multibridge.

In Premiere I started a new ‘decklink’ project using “HD720” and “60p”.

Obviously I can’t “control” the EX1 using the Decklink, but I assume that if I play a clip on the EX1, I should see it in the capture window, no? What am I missing here?

    Thanks.

    Hi Aaron

Your computer will capture whatever video signal is coming out of your camera via the Multibridge, providing your input settings are correct and set to SDI (Apple>>system preferences>>Decklink). You could also simply verify the output from your camera by connecting it to a monitor.

You could also, and it may possibly be easier depending on your workflow, copy files directly from the memory card itself via USB. Then you could import the files into Premiere.

    cheers

Well, here’s the issue. I got the multibridge, because Premiere Pro cannot edit XDCAM files natively. The EX1 can shoot in HDV and send it out via firewire, but I wanted higher quality. Eventually they’re saying Premiere will release a plug-in allowing people to edit XDCAM natively.

Okie dokie, well if you’ve shot HDV then you might be as well off capturing from your firewire, however you should still be able to get input through your multibridge if set to the SDI input settings.

You’ll also have to make sure your project is set to HDV.

    Cheers

The test footage I shot was in 720 60p using XDCAM. I set my project settings for the same. I will try again tonight when I get back to my office. Thanks for you help.
