    Hi.

I have task to build system that can handle “HD”.

Source would be Panasonic P2 or Canon XL H1 for now.
My preference says Canon because of SDI output.
P2 needs additional conversion yes ?

Final output is Beta SP now.

Multibridges advantage for me would be analog connections
and direct monitoring from dedicated LCD.

Other option would be DL HD Extreme with HD link.
For analog connection to Beta SP there should be standalone Multibridge etc.
Limitation is only 1 SDI input from future point of expanding.

My main concerne is if i should go with MAC or AMD Opteron based PC.

I know Multibridge handles both platforms but is there
    eny preffered way?

I have never seen a question like this. When you ask “should I choose MAC or PC” – you are basically asking – “should I choose Final Cut Pro (on MAC) or Adobe Premier (on PC). The decision of what software you should use to edit with is VERY IMPORTANT and a personal preference. Your editor should make this decision, based on what he likes to edit with.

    Hi.

I think i will be this editor. Now i use DL Extreme with prem pro.
Future might bring P2 material and there as i underestand mac
has advantages but is not true uncompressed what i seek.

My goal would be Multibridge but i do not know how to integrate
P2 if it comes. With SDI input it seems clear and there is just
if edit with prem on fcp.

Other problem is there how to make field recorder so to say.
Machine that takes SDI from lets say canon camera and records
it to HDD directly. With P2 it is simpler there.

    Eny ideas?

If you’re going to be dealing with P2 and DVCPRO HD in general, go with the Mac. We current do not support DVCPRO HD on the PC.

Ho does P2 workflow work on mac?
Material has to be converted or can it be used directly ie.
material stays in its native P2 format in fcp but shows through
    BM board.
