Hey all, I really need your help here; any advice, ideas, or references to point me in the right direciton would help.

Here is my issue: I am trying to capture and playback Betacam in Final Cut Pro using a BlackmagicDesign Multibridge Extreme. I installed the card into the pci-express slot in our Mac Pro tower. I installed the multibridge and decklink software. All the cables appear to be hooked up correctly. Upon restarting and opening final cut pro, the easy setup window appeared. I clicked the popup menu named “setup for” and selected Blackmagic NTSC – 10 Bit, set my scratch disk, then clicked OK, but then the External A/V popup appeared, unable to locate Blackmagic NTSC – 10 Bit. So, I tinkered around a bit, but still cannot get Final Cut Pro to recognize the beta deck for playback and capture. It seems like it could be a hardware issue, though I did switch the pci-express slot the card was installed in, unplugged and replugged all the cables, restarted, etc. Any Ideas?

    What we are using here:
Mac Pro (1,1) tower with 2 x 3ghz dual core intel xeon, running mac OS X 10.4.8, 3GB of ram
    Final Cut Pro 5.1.2
Blackmagic Design Multibridge Extreme w/pci-express card

    THANKS!!!

May be overly obvious but did you select betacam from the Black Magic extension accessed from the system preference window?

Our MBE works great, except we have to toggle inputs to get audio to be available for monitoring.
