Multibridge Extreme – can’t get DVI output working on 1920×1080 monitor
I’ve just installed a Multibridge Extreme in a Quad G5 today and am able to view content on my SD component engineering monitor (both SD and HD downconverted). I’m trying to get the DVI-D output of the Multibridge Extreme to show me an image on my 37 inch Sceptre X37 1080P HDTV monitor. The specs on this monitor are 1920×1080 at 60hz when I hook it up to a graphics card on my computer (which works great).
Incidentally, after troubleshooting and trying every conceivable settings combination to no avail, I hooked the Multibridge Extreme’s DVI ouput to a Viewsonic 1280×1024 (60hz) LCD computer monitor and got an image. It was anamorphic SD and it did not correct the anamorphic display nor scale to fill the screen. Just your basic 1:1 mapping. But that tells me that the MBE is supporting some resolutions/refreshes but not others.
But 1080i/P (1920×1080) is a STANDARD HDTV RESOLUTION! Surely this should work!
BTW I’m running 5.2.3 drivers et al. My Multibridge arrived today AFTER the defective 5.4 drivers were pulled, so at least I avoided that pitfall.
To anyone from Blackmagic Design: Will the new 5.4 drivers have support for my monitor? Will I be able to SCALE content to fill it? If not, why not?
Help?
All the best,
