I’m having problem with a Multibridge Extreme and Premire Pro 2.0 with the sound out. The setup is a DV VCR connected to the PC via firewire and capturing using the Blackmagic codec DV PAL.

Audio out is via the Extreme box and XLR to the audiomixer, and it works fine, but there a constant clicking sound in the audio track ???

I’ve tried an isolated DV software setup, and using Adobe’s pre-setup and the build-in soundcard, and then there are no clicking sound, so it seems like it came when using BM-Codec and and played back. Any ideas ?

  • Just a thought. First try and export out of Premiere a small file to audio wave file, and examine in Audition. In otherwords, see if it is happening on the capture side, or the output side. Then you might have some direction to head. It is possible it could be a soundcard driver issue or some kind of resource conflict. But don,t do anything until you can see where the problem exists first.

    I have the same situation.

A long support-dialogue with Blackmagic did’t bring any result.

By the way if I put the DV clip in a Blackmagic HD timeline, it plays ok.
But that’s no help of course.

  • Ok
Go to the contol panel, and open sound devices. go to audio tab, at the bottom, you will see a box to check . Enable preferred devices only, and see if that helps. I think you may have a couple of sound devices running simultaneously, that might account for the clicking. If that does not help, what is the motherboard for your system. On a properly running system clicking is not a problem over MBE connections.

If you place a ‘transparency’ layer over the DV clip does that fix the clicking?

This will obviously give you a red bar indicating rendering required.
