Multibridge Extreme analog HD input or an HD input
First, let me say that if any of the Black magic folks are reading this, PLEASE put out more information on the HD side of the multibridge stuff!
That being said, here’s my problem:
Trying to capture a YpBpR output from a JVC GY HD100U set to HDV mode. How do I arrange the settings in the Multibridge Extreme to get the signal to come in as HD and not SD in FCP?
Although I can capture (using an uncontroled device setting in FCP and the DVCPro 100 codec) it seems that everything is SD quality.
After looking over the scarce literature from their site, I have to assume that the inputs are auto sensing- but that isn’t confirmed anywhere.
Am I just dense?

Hi,
If you’re able to capture SD via Final Cut Pro and not HD, then your camera is down converting on its output and sending SD video to the Multibridge Extreme.
You do not have to specific whether the input video is SD or HD. Multibridge Extreme will auto detect the input. However, you do have to tell the Quicktime Digitizer which format to expect. This is done in Final Cut Pro (or Blackmagic Deck Control) via the easy setup.
