  Multibridge

  I purchased a Decklink Sp card for my G4 and love it. I recently purchased a G5 Quad with 8 gig or ram and a 3.5 TB Xserve Raid and I’m moving into HD. I’m thinking about purchasing the Multibridge Extreme. Since Most of my work will be for broadcast, is the MBE downconvert a high quality down convert? I’ve read some posts where the quality is questionable. What is the real story?

  Is there any upconversion like the Kona 3?

  The Kona 3 is boasting DVCproHD hardware acceleration. I’ll be using the HVX 200 camera which uses DVCpro HD. Is the hardware acceleration going to make that much of a difference?

  I’m outputing to a plasma screen with HDMI inputs for client viewing. Does the MBE have HDMI output like the HDlink? The plasma also has DVi inputs too. Is one better than the other?

  I’m on the fence here and need to be swayed by MBE users to leap into the back yard.

  Any feedback is welcome and appreciated.
