I’m shooting in Haiti next week and will need to combine several sources of footage when I get back. The sources will be:
    1080i59.94 Sony EX-1
    480i29.97 DV
    720p23.976 DVCProHD
Can these all be dropped into a 720p59.94 DVCProHD timeline with good results? Any other solutions for combining? Thanks.

What do you need to deliver in the end? HD? or a DVD or?

Deliverables will be DVD and web video. Blu-Ray might be a bonus, but not essential. It’s mostly for fundraising meetings and a web site. I’ve had mixed results using 720p60 for DVD, but if it’s a good way to handle the mixed frame rates, it might be worth it. For the web, I have no problem cutting the frame rate in half during compression.

Is there a predominate format for the footage? like is most DV or? You might chose sequence settings for what you have to deliver, which is SD or lower… but if you want a Blu-Ray in the end, you’ll need at least a 720p sequence setting… I’d transcode what you end up using of the SD footage in the end through a hardware setup like a capture card or better yet through a terranex.
