I’d like to switch from the enclosures I currently use, to something more RELIABLE.
I just need JBOD with no form of RAID (could use Raid 1-mirror)
Thank you MUCH for any suggestions.

    Currently using:
Sans Digital 8-Bay with Rocket Raid esata card/controller
Problem: Over the years too many random periods of drives just not appearing, or groups of 4 drives going down (one entire side of the card or enclosure) Arrgh!

    Would like:
Not too expensive enclosure with ESATA connection.
8-bay is ideal but can work with a pair of 4-bays.
    Reliable
    Hot Swap
    JBOD is fine

    Thank you!

I’ve been using a pair of G-Speed(es) enclosures for a few years now with good results. They replaced a pair of Huge drives. I run them as RAID5 but they should be able to run as JBOD as well. I also have a pair of Firmtek dual drive eSATA enclosures. This allows me to exchange drives between my two editing computers easily. No problems with either sets of hardware for years now.

Not my monkeys. Not my circus.

There’s a ton of junk out there but your”e better paying the extra cost of, as previously mentioned, G-Tech or something from the Sonnet Fusion line. Quality electronics inside the box and enterprise level drives.
