I’m editing a segment in FCP 6.0.6 with a two camera setup. I converted both cams to multi-clip and have them both on the timeline. (Footage is from two Sony EX1’s.) I’ve figured out how to switch back and forth between the two cameras so they’re on the timeline, alternating roughly in the places I want.

Now I need to edit the whole segment down–its about 35 minutes, and it needs to be less than half that. Should I have done the rough editing before I did the camera switch on the timeline? Or does it not matter–can you do it before and after?

I seem to have a problem when I used the razor blade tool to delete a section. I wanted camera 1 to extend to the right over to fill in over the sound, rather than have camera 2 extend back to fill a video gap. It wouldn’t let me drag the camera 1 to the right after using the razor blade tool.

Do you know what I’m doing wrong?

    Thanks much,

    Dan S.
