I am new to the filming & editing industry so bear with me.
Ok, to my question! I recorded a wedding using my New Canon XL-2. For audio I used the on camera mic Ch1&2. A wireless transmitter plugged into the church mixer board via 1/4″ audio plug transmitted to a reciever pluged into ch.3.
last ch.4 I used a phantom powered condencer mic over bride & groom.

Now you know how I recorded it.

Main question. Do you select the audio to play back on the camera and capture them separately {I was told you can’t by canon}if so how? Or, when you capture does it automatically capture all channles & you split them? I need advice if that is the case.

Premiere Pro can’t capture channels 3 and 4. However, if you download the trial version of ScLive, you will realize that it can. Also, ScLive is a highly efficient tool as compared to Premiere Pro’s capture tool.

If you want to capture channels 1&2 only in Premiere Pro, then you can capture the audio with the video and then split them up later. Let us know if you need help to split the audio and video.
