  • Multi-channel export to Compressor, not using “Master File” option FCPX 10.2

I have specific Compressor 4.2 presets that I would like to use to transcode files out of Final Cut Pro X 10.2, I have audio that is supplied by the client that is already approved 5.1 and stereo mixes that need to be sent to the iTunes store with the iTunes track configuration of discrete audio channels 1-6 and a stereo pair for channels 7-8.

When I attempt to submit a file out of FCPX to Compressor, Compressor only takes the attributes of the FCPX project settings which only allow “Stereo” or “Surround”. Since I need to use the stereo mix that is provided by the client, I cannot use the “Downconvert to stereo” option in Compressor.

Is there a way around having to export a master file with the custom audio roles and just go directly to Compressor for this?

Or is there a way to create a project with custom audio settings that are NOT only “Stereo” or “Surround”?

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thank you!

Final Cut Pro X, OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)
