    hello-

Very excited about wirecast 4 – will upgrade asap. Here is my question
    – I want a “portable” 2 camera set up to bring to different softball tournaments – we have been doing 1 camera using wirecast 3. I want an unmanned camera in the outfield.

    Options as I see them
    1) IP camera – pros and cons? Can I live switch from that camera with my live webcast? I am not familiar with IP cameras – what are my potential problems with this method? Will there be a lag?

    2) Looked at using our regular cameras set up with wireless transmitter but afraid of lag – camera will be about 200feet – 300 feet from laptop.

    3) A REALLY long firewire – with repeaters.

Can anyone weigh in on what my best option is?

Thanks – cant wait to try out wirestream 4!!

Wirecast 4 Pro (must be Pro) supports IP cameras (AXIS 211 W, Sony SNC-RZ50, and Cisco WVC80N)
You can certainly live switch between them and other cameras.

Telestream is working on Teradek Cube support although no official date yet but it may be soon. That would allow you to wirelessly use HDMI and HD-SDI cameras with Wirecast.

Rather than firewire with repeaters, some will use Firewire to CAT5 adaptors for long cable runs.
