Multi camera mode slow in cs5
Ok, I’ve upgraded my system, updated all my software, even the bios on my motherboard.
I am perplexed at why multi-camera mode in cs5 is still not working. Here is my process:
I start a new project
Video settings are DVCPROHD 1080i 60 MXF files, they show up as P2 in the media browser
– drag my video clips onto the timeline on different tracks. One at a time.
– sync them up
– nest them
– Enable multi camera mode
– Open multi camera monitor
– Render the timeline, actually there’s some weirdness going on here too. When I press play, it
hesitates a few seconnds. NOTE: At first, there is no red line to indicate that I need to
render. I get strange results trying to play. So what I do is make an edit, like make a cut in
one of the video tracks and the red line shows up for the entire work area. Then I render it and
hit play.RESULTS:
– It will go along fine for about 10-15 seconds, sometimes longer, sometimes shorter, then it
starts to get jittery. Somestimes the video just stops, but I can still hear the audio.
If I let it keep going, the video eventually catches up but I am unable to make
good cuts. It will let me select cameras, but that slows it down too.So here’s my system:
Windows 7 Pro
i7 920 2.67ghz
24 gigs of ddr3 1600
4 hard drives in the following config
– 1 tb non-raid for os and programs
– 2 drives, 1 tb each on raid 0
– 1 tb drive that contains my original video– Scratch, cache, and exports are on the raid drive
– Project is on the original video drive (I’ve tried putting these in every other location possible)
– OS and Programs keep to themselves
Graphics card is a Geforce GTX-470
800 watt power supplyOh yeah, I updated the bios on my ASUS P6T DELUXE V2 MOTHERBOARD
