I am editing a three camera shoot, captured in NTSC DV, using the multi-camera monitor. My problem is that it is extremely jumpy, and freezes frequently on playback/record. Audio continues, however. My drive is working furiously it seems. It is a dedicated Media scratch drive, 500GB, 2 physical drives in RAID 0 (250 GB each). I’ve practically emptied the drive, defragged and no improvement. I deleted all preview files, rebuilt the previews, and no improvement.

What’s left to do? I have edited other NTSC DV, multi-cams and had no problems before. And they were usually much larger.

I have a screaming quad-core Opteron, 4GB memory, NVIDIA FX4500, and the latest updates.

    What am I doing wrong?

Asking 1 drive to deliver 6 streams (3 vid and 3 CFA) at the same time might be asking a bit much. Try deleting one or 2 audio tracks from your main sequence.
A second drive would probably help a bunch.

Sorry. I thought I made it clear in my first post. I have a RAID Array consisting of two drives, both 250 GB, into a Media only drive. I also have a third drive that is only for system files and programs. 6 streams? I should be blasting 16 streams! I’ve done this on a single 300GB hard drive in the past. Something is definately wrong here.

But, I don’t need the audio on the other cams so I’ll delete them and see if it helps. Thanks for the advice.
