Multi-cam within a regular timeline

Yes, is the short answer.
Although be careful whether you are working in a multicam sequence, inserting the multicam edit into a “normal” sequence (the latter would be my preference).

One consideration is the balance of multicam v single cam in the sequence, how tight is your deadline, and how long is the final project?

I often only use “multicam” to sync my cameras. Then open multicam in timeline and copy and paste to my master Sequence, where I then do the “multicam” edit manually.
