Multi-Cam Shoot- Drop Frames in Playback
Hello,
I recently shot a short film using two digital cameras. For some reason the playback of clips from one of the cameras is dropping frames when played on the timeline. I reduced the playback resolution to 23%. I even went as low as 12.5%.
Possible solutions?

If by playback resolution you mean you reduced the size of the timeline viewer then as far as I know that makes no difference to FCPX. Your only two options under the quality menu are “better performance” or “better quality”.
As far as the multicam goes have you let FCPX optimise the media?

I have not optimised the media.
How should I do that?

I just finished a couple 1 hour, 3 camera multi-cam edits on an older MBP. I went ahead and made proxy media for the edit and just switched back to original for the output. Much better performance.

OK, so I was able to find a machine with 10.2.3 and the Library opened fine and I got job done. I did export an XML and imported that into a new Library in 10.3.x and that fixed the issue. However, when I get back to my home studio, I will try your other ideas. Thanks Jeremy.
