MTS video problem: Interview video cuts off, footage missing
Really hoping someone is able to help me with a very strange problem. Filming on a C100 mark ii, set to AVCHD, which records MTS files.
Last month, I filmed an interview that was 1 hour and 5 seconds in length. I sent an MP3 of the interview to the client so he could give notes. Recently, I started editing the video… and the file is now 27 minutes and 35 seconds long! In other words, the clip abruptly ends in the middle of the interview with over half of it missing.
I know I had the full interview at some point because I went back and looked at the MP3 I sent to the client. Sure enough, it’s the full 1hr 5s (so at least I have the audio).
I thought maybe it was an issue with Adobe. So I checked a backup I had uploaded to Google Drive. Google Drive lets you watch a preview of video files without having to download. But even that file cuts the interview short!
Don’t think I have ever seen the length of a video clip change like that. Any suggestions? This is potentially a very serious problem. Thanks so much for your help!

Think I found the solution, though I don’t fully understand it:
The first file “00000.mts” got renamed. I changed it back, and viola… I can now view the full interview. The reason I didn’t think that was the issue was that I had the same problem with the backup file in Google Drive, which was never renamed. I don’t understand why the backup file had the same issue. But I’m glad it’s fixed.

You are not saying which file became shorter.
If that happened when editing look to see if you are working on a file that was exported but just from the length of the workbar rather than the whole sequence.A common mistake.
Then it got re-imported. Or somehow a sequence got cut. Look in project history.
