.MTS file to HD QT for FCP conversion software
I have a Sony Handycam recording in AVCHD 1080i 50 MTS file format. There are quite a few MTS to X video format software about, but I was wondering if anyone can recommend one they have used?
I have tied out a couple but disappointed with the results
I basically want to maintain the highest quality format preferably QT for FCP

Every time I try Log and Transfer with AVCHD Final Cut crashes – just disappears. I use Clipwrap, which does the job of reformatting very well.

Thanks everyone. L&T worked once I figured out what I was doing wrong. Sounds like Clipwrap would be a handy addition to the conversion software arsenal.

In Final Cut you would open your log and transfer window and import the footage as Pro Res 422 which, while it creates larger files, is a great codec to edit with and I do so with most everything.I suggest you purchsed MTS Convert for Mac, because compressor is very slow and Final Cut handle AVCHD files when it finds them in their original file structure (either by connecting the camcorder or using a memory card reader), not isolated .mts files.
