You shouldn’t need to convert anything.

CS6 will accept every kind of footage… even the kitchen sink!

I work with .mts files daily and never had a problem importing them.

are you using the media browser to bring them in?

    what camera is it from?

    Hi Megan,

What kind of issues are you running into with the MTS files?

After I import them and pull them down to the timeline, it still looks like I need to render them — There’s a red line above the video. Does that make sense?

    I’m using a Canon Vixia HFM50 camera.

    Thoughts?

Did you copy the whole card or whole content of the internal drive to your hard drive first.
Did you set up an avchd sequence?
Easiest way is to drag a clip from the project panel into the New item icon.
Or right click on a clip in the project panel and hit New Sequence From Clip.

    I echo what Ann said.

Also do you have a supported GPU?
