July 16, 2010 at 1:31 pm.mpg as in mpeg 1? if so, why are you using that. I thought that was an outdated format! Why not use .mp4 of H.264.

July 16, 2010 at 3:48 pmI used compressor, mpg comes out as a squished 4×3 instead of 16×9. .mpg because that is what the client asked for. I had originally sent her a .mp4 (h.264) and she asked if I could do .mpg. Apparently she didn’t check with her tech people, I told her .mpg did not come out good and asked her what she needed it for. She said they were putting it on there website….. so resent to her .flv h.264.

February 16, 2011 at 5:25 pmI know this is late but I manage a small station and our playback system is based on .mpg… You can get decent quality depending on bit rate. Of course it is pc based so that is why… I would prefer h.264 but not an option at this time. .mpg is not my favorite but compressor will export nicely to it. You need to set your parameters but it does look alright. I have found it not uncommon for clients to want an .mpg format for their PC nightmares… (did I say that outloud)
