MPG on the timeline- need to transcode?
I’ve got a 1080i ProresHD timeline preset in FCP. As well as HD material, I also have some Standard Def. MPG video files that I need to use. When I drop them as is in the timeline they seem to playback ok. Do these need to be transcoded in compressor to Prores?
I did a few transcode tests in compressor and the results using a variety of codecs were not great so I’d like NOT to transcode if possible.

If they play OK, just use them.
