A bit confused here…been with vegas since the 4th edition and never had this problem. I am rendering my hour long project to mpeg2 dvd architect with audio…use this setting for years with no issues. Here’s what’s changed I have a new computer i7 2600 16gigs ram with an external hd (containing clients data) with using usb 3.0 I was so excited and hour long edit with fx etc only took 11 minutes to render, but every couple of minutes i get a 1 frame glitch that affects the audio and video…i can’t deliver the final like this. Any thoughts..I also tried rendering to a different internal drive same thing.

Let me know what you think…thanks in advance

Craig, my guess is that something else is going on in the background (anti-virus?) to cause this glitch.

that is a good suggestion…on my old machine I was running avg now I am running avast…what are you using? I will try a render without the antivirus on…thanks for that

I would also check to make sure you don’t have any programs that constantly optimize. The two that come to mind would be a constant defrag or constant backup. This kind of constant maintenance is gaining popularity and while it probably works well for the average person just surfing the web and editing word documents, it’s not so go for video editors working with large files.

Having said that, render is not “real-time” critical and Vegas should simply wait for any other system activity to finish and then continue rendering.

You Guys are both great…and I appreciate your help. Turned off the anit virus…and check for back up and dedrag schedules…still the occasional 1 frame audio/video freeze glitch…baffled…Might try to render to another format, but MEPG2 is really what I need and use all the time. Never thought a new computer would cause more issues…any other thoughts?
