    Greetings,

I was just about to run a comparison test on some mpeg2 files and when I went to export using “quicktime conversion” from Final Cut 5.1, I found no mpeg2 option. The mpeg2 component is in the proper quicktime folder on the computer library, but it is not showing up. I tried opening the file in quicktime player and exporting from there as well, but same deal. Anyone have ideas?

Thanks for your time and help.

    hi brett-

i think apple is pushing people to use compressor instead of the QT conversion. i noticed that the latest versions of QT don’t have the option as well. i’ve been using compressor, and tho’ not as user friendly, it does the work fine for me.

    Eric,

Thanks…and yeah, I just ran across some info saying the same. Go figure…quicktime conversion had a little more control if I remember correctly, which most times I don’t.

    Thanks again for your help.

    Best,

yeah, i was bummed too… compressor has more control, but not nearly the convenience that the QT option had.

    ce la vie’.

    good luck!
