    Good day,
Have a new imac running symphony, how do you export a mpeg2?
On my old composer (windows based),I was able to send to Sorenson but now when I try to send to Sorenson nothing happens.
What is the best way to export an mpeg2 from my mac based symphony?

    Thanx,
    Brad

Do you not have Sorenson on that system? Compressor? 30 day trial of Adobe Media Encoder? Neither MC nor Symphony export MPEG2 natively.

I thought it was included with the Symphany upgrade. Within AVID you can ask to send to Sorenson but when the auto launch button is checked it doesn’t open anything. When I look in applications, there is no Sorenson Media file or folder. The symphony software was downloaded from AVID site.

look in your symphony dmg package. There should be another folder called other installers, and in there somewhere you should see Boris fx and Sorrenson…unless you have a version that didn’t ship with those, but i believe 6.0 and 6.5 both come with them. They are a separate install though
