What is involved in taking an mpeg2 clip and editing it in FCP 5.0?
Is the program “streamclip” something that is worthwhile for this or is there a internal better way in FCP? We want to take clips that will be easy to put on the net but also work with them for NTSC television quality?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Mpeg streamclip is your best bet for transcoding mpeg2s.

You probably don\’t want to rely on mpeg2 footage for broadcast footage, though.

Thanks for the QUICK response…this helps me decide which direction to go on some new “throwaway” equipment.
