mpeg2 compatibility with windows media player
Hello,
I recently started editing with FCP. Everything is perfect, except one thing.
When i export via compressor a mpeg2 (which includes also sound) i get .mts file
which rename into mpg.I can open & play this file on my mac and pc with Vlan software, but i cannot
play this mpeg2 file with windows media player on pc.Does anyone maybe know the reason why?
Also whats the best setting, so that my mpeg2 could be viewed also on pc with windows media player.And on that note – whenever i try to export windows media file from FCP i only get 4-5 seconds of long clip.
Even though i set mark in and mark out in length of 1 minute or even more. I only get 4 seconds.Any help would be appreciated,

Isn’t it a Windows thing that non-Media Center versions of Windows (most) don’t play back MPEG 2 files unless there’s 3rd party DVD player software installed ?

How are you exporting WMV from Final Cut Pro? Both Flip4Mac and Popwire components must be purchased. Flip4Mac in DEMO mode will allow you to export half a clip or 30 seconds, as a demo.

I have Flip4Mac. It wasnt expensive, so i bought it.
If i would have demo, it would be (as you pointed out) a half clip or 30 seconds, but i always get 4-5.So you think it should be something wrong with the codec for wma?
