Is it all right to transcode Canon H246 footage into the Apple XDCAM format and then edit in Sony XDCAM. I’m mixing Canon 7D footage with Sony EX-1 XDCAM footage so I thought that would make the most sense. Can someone explain the difference between the Apple XDCAM format and the Sony XDCAM format? What’s the downside of converting into the Apple XDCAM format to then edit in the Sony XDCAM format?

I would transcode the H246 footage directly into the Sony XDCAM format in MPEG Steamclip, but MPEG Steamclip does not offer the “Sony” XDCAM format.

Thanks in advance for all your help.
