mpeg decode error
Hi, I am capturing hdv on a purpose built hd computer via firewire into cs4 no problems when using the original cannon xha1, bought new sony hd 700e deck and get red frame in timeline and there after out of sync sound, cs4 kindly tells me that there was a “mpeg decode error”, if I recapture the error MAY appear earlier ot later in the capture. I got the sony to save head ware on cameras but can’t rely on it, dealer at present don’t wanna know, blames cs4 or dirty tapes. I have had problem since taking sony out of the box, and tried tape cleaner, any suggestions, many thanks

Hi Matt, sorry, I could not find a work around other than going back to using the cannon, I spoke to the guys at creative video and they said it is to do with how the sony hdv differs from how cannon see’s it,I gave up, anyone want to buy an un-used sony hdv deck?

So did you have trouble capturing footage with the Canon X1 at all? I have been getting the same issues you have been getting with the Canon X1…I am thinking the camera needs to go in for repair. Interesting how this happened to you 2 years ago haha
