Hey my name’s Johnny and I just had a quick question. I’m trying to import video from my digital camera onto AVID to make a documentary. The video type is an Mpeg, and every time I try to import the video onto AVID it comes up with a message saying “AVID does not support this type of Mpeg file.”

Obviously, I need a converter. I’ve looked a lot of places and have found nothing that actually converts all of the video or doesn’t place their emblem annoyingly on the middle of the video.

There must be some sort of safe program that can easily convert my videos to something AVID will in fact like. Thanks for your time.

MPEG streamclip is a free converter available at http://www.squared5.com/ You can use that to convert your mpeg clip into a quicktime mov using Avid’s codecs. That would probably be the easiest way to get it into your system.
