  • MPEG audio lost when imported in Final Cut

When I import MPEG files into Final Cut Pro 4.5 the audio disappears. When viewing the clip with quicktime both the audio and video are present. Once imported only the video is present. I have tried adjusting the sequence presets, but that has not helped. Any suggestions? Thanks!

It has nothng to do wih your settings, the audio is muxed and FCP does not demux audio. Download MPEG Streamclip (its terific freeware) and use it to convert your MPEG to DV or some other editable video format. Then edit…

    Happy 4th of July!!!
