A search didn’t help me with this. I have Vegas 8 platinum, and the only MPEG-4 type it allows me to render videos as are “Apple iPod” with small[er than HD like I need] resolutions like 640×480, and one smaller than that.

There’s a “Sony MainConcept mp4”, but despite what codec I choose, when I upload that on youtube it inexplicably lags and makes the video twice as long. So that’s not usable. I’m being forced to render in .WMV, which gives all video a slight blur :/

Am I missing an extension or something for Vegas? If so, how would I incorporate one?
    Many thanks!

Could you please elaborate on what “Upload from the timeline” means?

I’m sorry for naivety on the topic. But where is this option? I have Vegas Pro 8.0.

Under “Tools” there is a “Export for Sony PSP” along with the basic “burn to CD” options.

Could this be a different version? Or is there technical knowledge I’m just lacking?

I think Big Gill must be thinking of Premiere or something, as even Vegas 9 doesn’t have an “upload to youtube” on the file menu.

You’re right, you want to use the mainconcept mpeg4 template. Tweak it according to the current upload guide on their website. It should work.

Sorry I probably should have shown these in the first place.
Here, you see my two mp4 options. The Mainconcet AVC, and Sony AVC: Screencap

For the regular AVC, it only has two, non-HD options: Screencap

And for Sony AVC, its HD options are few, and the ones I’ve tried uploading, have lag errors on youtube: Screencap

I looked around MainConcept MPEG-4’s site, I found no upload guide, just ways to purchase things?

Right. You need to modify the template in accordance with whatever they’re asking for these days. Then save it as a preset.

From what I’ve read, you don’t want to start with Sony. Start with MainConcept AVC. I dunno why. Hey, I didn’t even know Sony was including an “upload to Youtube” menu selection!
