My new camera records SD in H.264. How can I import them into PPro 2.0 to edit them?

mpeg 4, H.264 is a delivery codec.
Decompress the video/audio, prior to import for editing.Vince

AVCHD native editing has been added to CS4, but is not supported for the older PPro 2.0 that predates MPEG-4 cameras.
You must convert the H.264 (AVCHD) footage to an avi file format that Premiere can recognize and work with. Do an internet search for “AVCHD to avi” and you should find some free or inexpensive software solutions to do this. Some cameras come with a utility on CD, so check that as well

My camera also records in SD h.264 mpeg.
When I import the clips with that extension into Premiere CS3, the audio is lost and I only stay with the video (image) to edit.
Does Premiere CS4 import SD h.264 mpeg clips (video and audio)?

I have been rendering the mov . H264 files from the canon EOS 5D Mark II, it is slow but,it works.Is there any other way.

You can change settings in monitor arrow on top right, click and adjust.
