My client has asked for his project to be delivered in mpeg 2 format as a data dvd. How can I render this project as a mpeg 2 with the audio attached? I usually make mpeg 2 with compressor but it makes a separate audio file. I’m using final cut 5. Thanks for any help.

The newest version of Compressor adds an option for this in the m2v “Extras” tab, but if you don’t have access to that:

Try downloading “MPEGStreamclip” Once you get it downloaded, put your m2v and aiff or ac3 into the same folder and named the same (except for the file extension). Open MPEGStreamclip. Choose Open from the file menu and open your m2v file. Click the play button to make sure you have audio. Go back to the file menu and choose “Convert to MPEG with mp2 audio”

In the for what its worth category, the newest version of Compressor (v3) adds presets for MPEG Transport and Program Streams so no specific need to go into the Extra’s tab ….. also in the for what its worth category, for anyone with the previous version of Compressor, the option for creating a transport stream is available in this version too, just as Matt describes above.
    Hope it helps

Thanks so much for all the help guys. I’m getting ready to try the mpeg stream clip process. When I go to file and open, do I open both files (audio and video)?

Thanks for the comments on the signature, Rafael. Thats my favorite verse.
